In 2007, residents of Texas City attended a small music festival at Nessler Park featuring several different performers. At the time, no one knew how large the event would grow or how long it would last.
Amazingly, more than two years have passed since that first festival and from those humble beginnings, the event has blossomed into a musical spectacular that attracts thousands of people from throughout the county. The festival, held yearly, features a different genre of music to appeal to all different likes and tastes.
The event features an entire day of music which goes well into the night, spotlighting different, well known artists. There are many family oriented activities for everyone both young and old to enjoy.
Since it's inception, this outdoor music event has paid tribute to Charles Brown, a great Blues musician who was born and raised right here in Texas City. Charles Brown went on to establish a very lucrative career in jazz and is still remembered today for his style of music.
